History in the Making

Founded in December of  2003 by Kit (Amy) M. Lau, Everground is one of the longest standing and most prestigious female CS team in North America.   Known for its well-respected and high caliber of players in the competitive female gaming scene, it is also responsible of the upbringing as well as recruitment of some of the top female players in the past three years for Counter-Strike 1.6. In 2004, with a 7-1 record, Everground became the first ever female Counter-Strike team to ever enter playoffs of North America’s most prestigious online gaming league: the Cyberathlete Amateur League (CAL). In the next season of CAL, having been moved up from the “Open” division to the more difficult “Intermediate” division, the girls were able mount a solid 10-6-0 run in their first season in CAL-Intermediate. After 2 more seasons of hard work, the girls dominated the Intermediate division, and were finally moved up once again, this time to CAL-Main, making history again as the first female teams to advance to the Main level.

In their last season of online competition, the team successfully finished with 10 wins, 5 losses, and 1 tie - an astonishing record for an amateur female team. This most recent achievement proved that Everground is a force to be reckoned with.  Not only it is an achievements in the North America female online gaming community, but in all Counter-Strike competition as well.  By 2006, a landmark year for Everground, they further cement themselves as one of the great female Counter-Strike teams in not only North America, but the world. The team was selected to represent the United States for the 2006 Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) for Women’s Master Cup in Paris.

Till this day, Everground continues to strive for excellence and break gender barriers by creating history as one of the most recognized and respected female teams in North America CS gaming community.
